A new kitchen island in Phoenix is often the one change that fixes everything else about a kitchen. Right now you might be cooking on a few feet of counter, with guests standing in the doorway and nowhere to set a plate down. Maybe you've tried a rolling cart or a small table in the middle of the floor, and it just gets in the way. We design and build islands that give you real work space, storage underneath and a place to sit. We build a lot of them, and we can usually come out to measure within about two days.
When You Need Kitchen Islands
You need an island when the kitchen doesn't have enough counter to cook on, when people have nowhere to sit while you work, or when the layout leaves a big empty space in the middle of the room. An island is also the usual answer when you open a wall between the kitchen and living room and need something to anchor the new space.
An old island can be the problem too. A small island with a laminate top, broken drawers or no seating takes up floor space without doing much. Replacing it with one that's sized right, with cabinets underneath and an overhang for stools, makes the whole kitchen work better.
Waiting rarely helps. A kitchen that doesn't work gets used less, and the frustration shows up every single day.
A few questions help decide whether an island fits. Is there enough floor space to walk around it on all sides? Do you want people sitting at it, and how many? Would a sink or cooktop in the island make cooking easier, or would you rather keep it clear for prep and serving? We'll answer those with you at the walkthrough.
Our Kitchen Islands Process
We start by measuring your kitchen and talking about how you use it. How many people need to sit, whether you want a sink or cooktop in the island, and how much storage you need. Then we size the island so there's room to walk and open the dishwasher and oven doors around it.
We build the base from cabinets, so you get drawers and shelves underneath, and top it with quartz, granite or marble. A waterfall island takes the slab over the top and straight down both ends, a look we've built in more than one Phoenix kitchen, with Calacatta quartz on white shaker cabinets. We've also built islands in sage green and navy, and one wrapped in stacked stone. An island is usually built as part of a larger kitchen remodel, and your written estimate includes the schedule.
Kitchen Islands Cost in Phoenix
The cost of an island depends on its size, the cabinets underneath, the countertop material, and whether it needs plumbing or electrical for a sink, cooktop or outlets. A waterfall edge uses more slab, so it costs more than a standard top. Moving a wall to make room adds to it as well.
You'll get a free, written, line-item estimate before any work starts, so you can see exactly what each part costs. No hidden fees, and no "today only" pricing.
