A walk-in shower is one of the biggest upgrades you can make to a Phoenix bathroom. Your shower might be a small stall you bump your elbows in, an old tub-shower combo, or tile with grout you can never get clean. You've probably tried new caulk, stronger cleaners or a new showerhead. We build walk-in showers with our own crew, from the waterproofing to the glass, and we can usually come out to measure within about two days.
When You Need Walk-In Showers
The usual reasons are a shower that's too small, a step-over tub edge that's hard to manage, dated tile, or a glass door that's cloudy with hard water scale. Grout that keeps cracking, tile that sounds hollow or a pan that flexes underfoot can mean water is getting behind the walls, and that's a reason not to wait.
A walk-in shower is also a common choice when a master bath is being redone, because it opens the room up and gives you a cleaner look than a shower curtain or a framed door.
It's also worth thinking ahead. If you plan to stay in your home for years, a walk-in shower with a low threshold, a bench and a handheld shower head is easier to use as you get older. Building those features in now costs less than adding them later.
Our Walk-In Showers Process
We start by measuring the bathroom and talking about size, tile and glass. Then we take out the old shower down to the framing, check for damage, and build the new shower with a proper base and waterproofing before any tile goes on.
On master baths we build pony walls, tall glass, rain showerheads and tile niches for bottles. One recent job replaced an old single-person walk-in with a new shower about half the size of a bedroom, with a pony wall and high glass. Another used gray marble-look porcelain, a hex mosaic floor, a vertical glass accent strip and a glass block window. Most bathroom remodels take 2 to 4 weeks, and your written estimate includes the schedule.
Waterproofing is the part you never see and the part that matters most. A shower is only as good as what's behind the tile, which is why we build the base and walls properly before a single tile goes up.
We'll also help you pick glass. A fixed panel keeps the look open, a hinged door seals in more steam, and taller glass, like we use on many master baths, keeps water where it belongs.
Walk-In Showers Cost in Phoenix
Cost depends on the size of the shower, the tile you choose, the amount of glass, and extras like niches, benches and a rain head. Moving the drain or plumbing to change the layout also affects the price. Plumbing goes to a licensed partner we coordinate.
You'll get a free, written, line-item estimate before we start, so you know exactly what you're paying for. No hidden fees.
If you're watching the budget, keeping the drain in its current spot and choosing a standard tile size are two simple ways to keep cost down without giving up the look.
